- Sea level rise

- Atmospheric circulation impacts on the Nordic Seas ocean climate
- Water mass modification processes
- The role of wind for North Atlantic-Nordic Seas volume exchanges

Brine ejection, deep convection, slope currents, and circulation are
processes of importance for the Arctic climate and therfore the focus of the
ProClim project.
My work lies within ProClim work package 4 whose main task is to synthesize
and quantify the observed and modelled interannual variability of dense
water production modes in the Nordic Seas and Arctic.
Among other related interests is the role of large scale atmospheric
circulation (wind) for the oceanic circulation, in particular the
exchanges between the North Atlantic and Nordic Seas. This work is
initiated within the RegClim project.
(Fact-sheet)
This work concerned the processes of Atlantic Inflow and the Norwegian
Atlantic Current in the Norwegian Sea, forcing and water mass
modifications. (graduated 2003)
(Thesis material)
The aim of this study was to resolve the mechanism of damping of
surface waves above bottom vegetation, and investigate the importance
of the commercial kelp-harvesting on the wave damping.
For economic reasons, the current activity is nil.
(graduated 1997)
